The Interior
From Fairbanks

—Riverboat Discovery tour, Fairbanks:   A 4 hour  cruise  on the  sternwheeler Discovery down the Chena River.  See Indian fishwheels, a dog sled demonstration, go ashore at Old Chena Village.

—Arctic Circle bus tour, Fairbanks:  This roundtrip day tour to the Arctic Circle includes a picnic lunch by the mighty Yukon River.

—Barrow:  One or two day tours from Fairbanks take you to the "Top of the World"!

—Prudhoe Bay Adventure, Fairbanks:  This 3 day/2nt tour takes you up the Dalton Highway with an overnight at rustic Coldfoot.  Across the Brooks Range into the tundra with an overnight at Prudhoe Bay.  Tour  the  oil  fields  and  fly  back to  Fairbanks. 

From Anchorage
—Bear Viewing Adventures, Anchorage:  Choose from a tour to Brooks Falls, or a remote site on the coast of Katmai, or  the beautiful Lake Clark area.

—Fly Out Fishing, Anchorage:  Spend the day with your guide fishing in some of Alaska's most remote spots.  In season you'll catch Rainbow Trout and all species of salmon.  Your package includes transfers to the airport, roundtrip floatplane flight, guide, equipment and lunch.

—Kotzebue and Nome:  day and overnight tours from Anchorage to see the Eskimo village of Kotzebue or the gold rush town of Nome.

—Pribilof Islands:   a bird-lovers paradise that is also well known for it's fur seal population, this is the ultimate wildlife tour from Anchorage.
Kenai Peninsula
—Kayak to the glacier, Seward:  Your private boat spirits you away from the crowds to the glacier where you can enjoy kayaking amidst the iceburgs.  Watch for wildlife along the way!

—Fox Island, Seward:  an excellent overnight tour that can be taken from Anchorage, this includes a cruise to Kenai Fjords complete with seafood feast, overnight in cabins with time to explore the island in the morning and return cruise to Seward.

—Overnight Kayak/camping trips, Seward: Perfect for families or those with limited time, these guided kayaking trips offer a chance to get away from it all.  You have the option of kayaking to your overnight camp site, or take a boat transfer.  Private trips can be arranged for parties of 4 or more.

—Seward:  take the Alaska Railroad to Seward for the day and include a cruise to Kenai Fjords.

—26 Glaciers Cruise, Whittier:  a quick day tour from Anchorage, this includes roundtrip transportation to Whittier and a full day cruise through College Fjord seeing 26 glaciers!
 Denali Park
Denali Park--the name itself conjures up images of wildlife, scenic beauty, and of course "The Big One", Mt McKinley.  Its universal lure means that tours and lodgings book up quickly.  You must plan ahead.

Lodging is either at the park entrance or at all-inclusive lodges located deep inside the park.

Private vehicles are not permitted on the park road so you must take one of the numerous buses into the park.  The park service offers shuttle buses that allow you to get on and off as often as you like.  Private companies offer 3, 6, and 12 hour motorcoach tours.

Other activities include rafting, flightseeing, and hiking.

Access to Denali Park is by train, motorcoach, or car from Fairbanks or Anchorage.
